Description
English: The George Washington Oak, a live oak at the Hampton Plantation State Historic Site in Charleston County, South Carolina, USA. While entertaining President George Washington in 1791, the plantation's owner mentioned plans to remove this tree, but Washington suggested he keep it. A plaque at the base of the tree reads:

GEORGE WASHINGTON OAK
TREE SAVED BY HIM WHEN ON VISIT
TO THIS PLANTATION IN 1791
