Description
English: Constructed in 1893 this building was an important public structure of the Fountain Park neighborhood, which had a high proportion of German immigrants, likely influencing the 19th century architecture style of the building. The distinctive cupola was removed about 10 years after this photo was taken. Image from a 4 x 5 inch glass plate with a Pony Premo camera, printed and digitally scanned. From the privately held Carl A. Campen collection of historic St. Louis photographs.
