| Description |
Wembley Stadium is a world-famous football ground in which major football leagues such as the FA Cup final and the Euro/World Cup qualifiers are held. It's located in Wembley Park which is in the London Borough of Brent. It replaced the original Wembley Stadium which opened in 1923 and was demolished in 2003 which upset many members of the public due to it being iconic and having history, especially in 1966 in which England won the World Cup beating West Germany (as Germany was segregated by the now-demolished Berlin Wall) 4-2 in extra time. The original stadium was known as The Twin Towers and was originally called the Empire Stadium. The new stadium was constructed in September 2002 and was completed by early 2007.
