| Description | West Harptree Church (St. Mary), Somerset, 6 August 2017. Founded by the Norman Knight William FitzJohn de Harptree in 1135, the present church consists of a 12th century Norman tower with a 13th Century Early English broach spire, late 14-15th Century Perpendicular south aisle, nave and chancel heavily restored/rebuilt 1865 by C E Giles. Pictured is the rather impressive (Victorian?) brass lectern. |
