Chubby beige snake with three brown mottled rows over most of the body. The middle row appears unfocused.

This venomous rattlesnake is the smallest found in Kansas measuring just up to 33 inches. Three rows of dark blotches run the full body length with the middle appearing blurred. A light-edged dark stripe run behind the eyes. Its diurnal (active day) during the spring and fall while nocturnal (active night) during the hot summer.
