Summary
[edit]DescriptionWoman nodding out on the subway.jpg |
English: A woman "nodding out" on the A line of the New York City subway. She held on to the pole with her left hand, and to a cell phone with her right, then repeatedly deeply lowered her body down or to the side without falling over or dropping the phone, all the time with her eyes closed. This type of behavior is typical of nodding out under the influence of heroin, and was much more frequently seen in New York City during the heroin epidemic of the 1970s. |
