Description

La XXIX Clásica de Almería no ha podido desarrollarse tal y como estaba previsto debido a las fuertes rachas de viento que han azotado la provincia durante toda la jornada. De este modo, la organización y el pelotón han decidido cancelar el recorrido a la altura de Las Norias y trasladarlo a un circuito urbano habilitado en Roquetas de Mar, donde los corredores han completado seis vueltas.


Los ciclistas apenas han podido recorrer 40 de los 184 kilómetros que estaban previstos a lo largo de todo el Poniente de la provincia, un contratiempo que, pese a todo, ha sido resuelto con celeridad y de una manera que ha agradado a todas las partes.


Ya en Roquetas de Mar, y tras las seis vueltas al circuito de 3,5 kilómetros de longitud, ha sido el australiano Leigh Howard el que se ha proclamado campeón de esta XXIX Clásica de Almería, seguido del ruso Aleksei Tcatevich y del letón Aleksejs Saramotins, que han protagonizado un emocionante sprint final por las calles roqueteras.

En el acto de entrega de premios, que ha tenido lugar junto al Auditorio Municipal de Roquetas de Mar, han estado el presidente de la Diputación, Gabriel Amat, el director del Área de Deportes de la Diputación, Juanjo Salvador, la teniente alcalde de Roquetas de Mar, Eloísa Cabrera, el concejal de Deportes del municipio, José Juan Rubí y el organizador del evento, José Manuel Muñoz.
