[edit]DescriptionYankee Doodle Daffy title card.png |
English: The title card for the animated short film Yankee Doodle Daffy, which was originally released to theaters in the United States on June 5, 1943, as part of the Looney Tunes series produced at that time by Leon Schlesinger. Taking its title from the major Warner release Yankee Doodle Dandy, the short was the second Technicolor Looney Tunes entry to pair Porky Pig with Daffy Duck (after the earlier Chuck Jones-directed film My Favorite Duck). The short casts Porky as the president of a theatrical production company known as "Smeller Productions," and Daffy as a talent agent representing a pre-teenage duck named "Sleepy Lagoon." While Porky has planned on taking a vacation that involves golfing, Daffy keeps him from having his way by using frantic, showstopping shticks to demonstrate the various things that Sleepy can do (so as to get the pig to accept him for an audition). Production credits are as follows: Directed by Isadore "Friz" Freleng and written by Tedd Pierce. Features animation by Richard Brickenbach, Gerry Chiniquy, Manuel Perez, and Phil Monroe, with layouts by Owen Fitzgerald and backgrounds by Paul Julian. Voice characterizations for Porky and Daffy provided by Mel Blanc. Musical score directed by Carl W. Stalling and orchestrated by Milt Franklyn. |
