Deutsch: Diese Illustration des Codex Amiatinus, einer Vulgatahandschrift, die sich heute in der Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana in Florenz befindet, stellt das im Exodusbuch beschriebene Zeltheiligtum annähernd maßstabgerecht dar und verbindet dies mit der im Numeribuch beschriebenen Lagerordnung. Die Darstellung ist genordet, alle vier Himmelsrichtungen sind eingetragen (z.B. Norden: arctos). Im Zentrum steht der Mischkan, dessen vier verschiedene Decken perspektivisch angedeutet sind. Innen links das Allerheiligste (Sacra sacrorum) mit quadratischem Grundriss, darin die Lade (arca testimonii). Rechts davon, im Raum vor dem Vorhang, Räucheraltar (altare thymiamatis), Leuchter (candelabrum) und Schaubrottisch (mensa). Vor dem Eingang (introitus) östlich der Brandopferaltar (altare holocausti), südöstlich davon das Waschbecken (labrum). Außen, nicht beschriftet, der Vorhof mit seinen Säulen und dem Eingang im Osten. Auf dem Vorhof ist angegeben, dass Mose und Aaron im Osten stehen. Für die levitischen Sippen, die im Norden (Merari), im Süden (Kehat) und im Westen (Gerschon) des Mischkan lagern, sind jeweils mit römischen Zahlen die in Numeri 3 genannten Zahlen aller Männlichen, die mindestens einen Monat alt sind, angegeben: 7500 Gerschoniter, 8600 Kehatiter, 6200 Merariter. Außerhalb des Vorhofs sind die Namen der zwölf Stämme und die Zahlen der dienstfähigen Männer entsprechend der in Numeri 2 beschriebenen Lagerordnung angegeben, z.B. im Osten zentral Juda (74600 Mann), flankiert von Sebulon und Issachar. |
