Description Die Ziegenleithe ist eine Sackgasse, die von der Eibenstocker Straße abgeht und ihr, dabei leicht ansteigend, parallel unterhalb des Webersbergs folgt. Die Ziegenleithe ist eine uralte Bezeichnung, die schon kurz nach der Gründung Schönheides entstanden sein dürfte. Der Begriff Leithe bedeutet Abhang und kommt aus dem bayerisch-ostfränkischen Sprachraum, hängt also vermutlich mit der Besiedlung Schönheides bzw. des Raumes im Bereich von Eibenstock zusammen. Zur Wortbedeutung siehe Friedrich Kluge: Etymologisches Wörterbuch der deutschen Sprache, 10. Aufl., Berlin und Leipzig 1924, Seite 3. Ganz bildlich kann man sich die Entstehung des Straßennamens vorstellen: Ziegen beweideten den steilen, an einigen Stellen felsigen Abhang des Webersberges. An diesem Abhang, der Ziegen-Leithe werden im Zuge des weiteren Fortgangs derBesiedlung Schönheides Häuser entstanden sein, nicht zu nahe am Filzbach wegen der damit verbundenen Überschwemmungsgefahr. Die Eibenstocker Straße entstand übrigens erst Ende des 19./Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts.
