תאריך לידה יוליאני: 21 ביוני 1881.
תאריך פטירה גרגוריאני: 17 בדצמבר 1917.
בתמונה זו, צויין תאריך לידתו של בורוכוב לפי הלוח היוליאני, שהיה בשימוש ברוסיה עד 31 בינואר 1918. ב-1 בפברואר 1918 לפי הלוח היוליאני, התעוררו תושבי רוסיה לתאריך של 14 בפברואר לפי הלוח הגרגוריאני, ו"איבדו" 13 יום מחייהם.
כך למשל, מהפכת אוקטובר חלה ב-7 בנובמבר 1917 לפי הלוח הגרגוריאני.
לייב לויטה ודניאל בן-נחום שערכו ופירסמו את כתבי בורוכוב בהוצאת הקיבוץ המאוחד – ספריית פועלים (השומר הצעיר), היו מודעים היטב לשיבושים שנגרמו על ידי ההבדלים בין הלוח היוליאני לגרגוריאני, ופירסמו זאת בסוף המבוא לכרך הראשון של כתבי בורוכוב בדצמבר 1954.
לדבריהם, לוח המאורעות בכרך א' כלל מאורעות יהודיים וכלליים משנת 1881 עד שנת 1906.
לוח המאורעות בא לתאר את הרצף ההיסטורי בשנים שבהן עוצבה דמותו של בורוכוב.

תוך כדי עריכת הלוח, נתקלו העורכים בשיבושים רבים שקנו להם שביתה במקורות היהודיים, שהיו בחלקם הגדול פרי שגיאות בהתאמת התאריכים של המניין העברי, היוליאני והגריגוריאני, ועירבובם. העורכים ניסו, ככל שניתן הדבר, לתקן את הטעון תיקון ולהאחיד את התאריכים לפי הלוח הגרגוריאני, שהוא הלוח המקובל בעולם, אך לא תמיד הצליחו, כפי שניתן לראות בתמונה זו הנמצאת בספריה הלאומית.
