The image in question, although taken from the 25th ID association, is originally from the Institute of Heraldry, an element of the United States Army. Therefore, it is work of the federal government. An alternative source is from the Washington National Guard. --RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 16:36, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
- Though the two versions of the shield look essentially identical, "our" image looks more elaborated, which may (or not) result in own copyright. To be on the very safe side, could you eventually contact this ID association and ask for (not for a permission) but for a (sort of) confirmation that their shield version is actually from the US Institute of Heraldry? --Túrelio (talk) 18:30, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
