Maybe. There's no easy answer to this. It depends on how independent you consider Puerto Rico to be. You can ask the same for Guam, Navassa, etc. This map shows at least a a very popular view. Here, the U.S. mainland consists of the 50 states + D.C. Puerto Rico is hatched. If you like a different map better (showing Puerto Rico and other territories like other U.S. territories), please create a different map (new filename). Plz check out Category:SVG locator maps of insular areas in the United States (location map scheme) for templates. I did most maps in that category. I always (?) decided not to to shows state borders, because associated overseas territories are clearly not alike a U.S. state but form seperate administrative entities. --TUBS 21:01, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
