There seems to be disagreement over the name of this lake. As far as I can tell, this is a photograph of the lake to the East of {{w|Washington State Route 17]] in the lower Grand Coulee. If you look at the topo map, the lake on both sides of State Route 17 is named "Lenore". If you look at Google maps, the lake on the west side is "Lake Lenore" and the lake on the east side is "Alkali Lake". GNIS also thinks this is named Alkali Lake. I believe this is the lake to the east, because it has those funny little islands.

I suspect this is actually "Alkali Lake", because of GNIS, but I'm not 100% sure. Do you have other information that would help us figure it out? — hike395 (talk) 04:10, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[1][reply]

I was using the USGS map and wasn't aware of the naming discrepancy. Acme Mapper finds another Alkali Lake north of the Columbia River that may have confused the Flickr uploader.[2] I agree that the image depicts "the small reservoir (Alkali Lake) to the east of Route 17" (with islands) per the GNIS description.
