@Stemoc, where do you see the OGL for this image? The profile says "Crown copyright pictures on this flickr profile can be downloaded in high res format and used in accordance with the terms set out in the specified Creative Commons license." czar 01:44, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Czar: , They were using this image on her official page (https://www.gov.uk/government/people/amber-rudd) on Gov.uk which you can see is OGL, but 2 days later they changed it to the recent one which you can see now so since it was crown copyright and the lower-res version itself was released under OGL on the main website, its OK to download and use the higher resolution version of the image, the same rule applied to the David Cameron image, you are an admin so i don't need to explain this to you bu an image released under both Crown Copyright and OGL can be used on commons, regardless of the quality of the images--Stemoc 02:22, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Stemoc, the thumbnail as OGL is fine, but is there any actual precedent for extending that OGL to the higher res image? Because the Cameron example does not appear to have been tested czar 02:26, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There is a precedent, but I did not want to share as it involved me Commons:Deletion requests/File:Iain Duncan Smith May 2015.jpg..--Stemoc 02:30, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
