A. columnaris?[edit]

This looks significantly different to A. heterophylla. Could it be Araucaria columnaris or another New Caledonian species? Kāhuroa (talk) 18:31, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That may be. I estimated it from the description of araucarias in a encyclopedia. Note that the photo has been taken in Gran Canaria (Spain) and not in New Caledonia, where the A. columnaris is native. Anyhow I added an ? behind the name. Wouter (talk) 21:15, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have added this to category Category:Unidentified Araucaria. A heterophylla (from Norfolk Island) is a very common tree here in New Zealand, and these two images look like a different species - I think A columnaris (from New Caledonia) is quite likely.
