Correct, many Dutch people often confuse sailors with marines because of that, they think any armed sailor is a marine. Matroos (plural: matrozen) means sailor in Dutch, both in the Royal Netherlands Navy as in the merchant navy. SpeakFree (talk) 18:56, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
