Birth year 1763 in file name

Hi Gricharduk and others, I'm not sure the birth year 1763 instead of 1762 counts as "obvious error". The museum[1] and others like the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography of 2006[2] give 1763. Given this note on English Wikipedia and this discussion I'm also inclined to assume 1762 as the more probable birth year. Given the inconclusive situation, what about removing the birth year altogether from the file name and move to (for example) File:Captain John Cooke - National Maritime Museum BHC2629.jpg? (Same applies to the other photos of the painting File:Lemuel Francis Abbott (1760-1803) - Captain John Cooke (1763–1805) - BHC2629 - Royal Museums Greenwich.jpg and File:Captain John Cooke, 1763-1805 RMG BHC2629.tiff.) Good suggestion, what's important here is the suffix - RMG BHC2629. This painting has been put on ArtUK by the NMM specifically in an effort to gain more knowledge of it, and that would include the birth date. Broichmore (talk) 11:41, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

Source: Art UK or the museum?

ArtUK are acting as the agency for the NMM. Its the same picture. I did this to avoid duplicate uploads by bots. We have 3 versions of this one painting already, when we are supposed to have one. Broichmore (talk) 11:36, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

Okay, I've removed and re-added it. Since we already have File:Lemuel Francis Abbott (1760-1803) - Captain John Cooke (1763–1805) - BHC2629 - Royal Museums Greenwich.jpg from Art UK directly I'm not quite sure if it makes a difference, anyway. :-) --Marsupium (talk) 11:46, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
