License exception for File:Heraldic_phoenix.svg

[edit]

Greetings, Shadowxfox!

Not sure how I can contacting you privately, so I'm posting this message here. I'm afraid I've made a mistake and I've used your File:Heraldic_phoenix.svg in a manner that doesn't easily lend itself to attribution and sharing (a heraldic device to be registered with the Society for Creative Anachronism). Would you, as the original author, be willing and able to grant to me an exception to the terms of your license? I'm open to discussion for whatever terms and conditions you might like to set for this. If you're not willing or able to do this, or if I don't receive a reply, then I'll withdraw my device registration from the SCA. Thanks for your time - and for your excellent work! --Remuluf (talk) 01:28, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!
Well, the phoenix itself is a modification of several files that already exists here on commons, which I've vectorized and modified, with respect to the original licenses. You could say it is a "semi" original work.
With regard to this organization (I think) SCA, there is no way you at least mention me as the original author of the file (or a link to the original file at least)?
PD: excuse my bad English, I'm not native speaker of the same.

I can assure you that your English is much better than my Spanish :)

The depiction would not be used commercially. The SCA is focused on authenticity, and the device will be depicted on shields and banners and on other physical objects where the inclusion of text for attribution and a license would detract from the authenticity. The device would also be recorded in the SCA's internal records. I could certainly mention you as the original author in the registration paperwork that is submitted with the device, so it would at least be part of the record.

Would that be acceptable? If so, then let me know and I'll ensure that the attribution is added to the registration data for the device. I am watching this page, so feel free to reply here if you like.

Hi again!
well, I don't have problem that you use that logo in SCA organization (in the way that you want), and I consider myself satisfied as long as you mention me in the registration paperwork.
I really thank you very much for contacting me and request me to use this file, that is a sign of your willingness; there are many people who take advantage of my work and other partners from wikipedia to profit at the expense of our effort and without giving us credit for it.
Good luck and have a nice day !--Shadowxfox (talk) 03:01, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're very welcome, and thank you so much for your cooperation, and again for your excellent artwork :) --Remuluf (talk) 15:50, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
