uk:Московське царство. English interwiki there is en:Tsardom of Russia. If you claim that correct name is Muscovite Tsardom, please rename firstly article in the English Wikipedia.--Anatoliy (talk) 11:27, 11 March 2009 (UTC) I prefer Muscovite Tsardom to Tsardom of Russia.
Alex K, please see interwikis in- 1) The term Muscovite Tsardom is used by Russian historians (Vernadsky V. Muscovite Tsardom. in 2 v. Moscow: Agraph, 2001 (Russian)) and is considered by them to be authentically Russian (В некотором царстве, в некотором государстве..." Sigurd Shmidt, Journal "Rodina", Nr. 12/2004).
- 2) Muscovite Tsardom redirects to article en:Tsardom of Russia without any problems.--Alex Tora (talk) 02:52, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- 3) The original description of the file uploaded by my has naming "Muscovite Tsardom" and I see need to change it. --Alex Tora (talk) 02:52, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- Kyiv is also redirects to Kiev, but Commons uses Kiev such as article name on en-wiki.--Anatoliy (talk) 12:41, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- As referred to by the lead of the article, which by overwhelming consensus was decided to be Tsardom of Russia, хотя официальным названием страны после его венчания на царство в 1547 году стало «Российское царство». In effect: Владимирская Русь (-1340), Московия (1340 - 1547), Россия (Царство 1547-1721, Империя 1721-1917)
- As Ahonc said, Kyiv also redirects to Kiev,
- Please see en:WP:OWN about owning your work, once you upload it to Commons, where only free licenses are allowed you can kiss ownership rights goodbye. --Kuban kazak (talk) 13:33, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- Kyiv is also redirects to Kiev, but Commons uses Kiev such as article name on en-wiki.--Anatoliy (talk) 12:41, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- 1)2 Cuban kazak. Firstly, read Vernadsky, please. Secondly, go to library and read Schmidts the whole article, not only the on-line preface. I strongly recomend to read academic books about the subject not wikipedia. The term "Muscovite Tsardom" exists and is in use among scholars despite your understanding of history. Sorry.
- 2)2 Ahonc. You're right, Commons uses Kiev in the naming of categories and pages. But we are speaking about file description. I'm sure there are dozens of files that have Kyiv instead of Kiev in their descriptions or namings and nobody sees problem in it. This case is similar. I see no need to change the description term which is in use in academia only because Cuban kazak don't like.
- 2)2 Cuban kazak. I just said that as an image creator I see no need to change its description. Its not about ownership but respect of the creator's view. Hope you don't forgot what respect is.--Alex Tora (talk) 02:18, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
- So, if the term Tsardom of Russia is incorrect, why do you not rename article on en-wiki?--Anatoliy (talk) 14:35, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
