Why is Jordan colored blue

[edit]

Seems like this is a mistake as Jordan is not involved in NATO as far as I can tell. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.155.182.226 (talk) 23:42, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That color is for the "Enhanced Opportunity Partners", which, as of 2024, are Australia, Georgia, Jordan, and Ukraine. It is up on NATO's website. -- Patrick Neil, oѺ/Talk 18:20, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Additional countries

[edit]

Add acceding countries - Montenegro — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 95.155.32.40 (talk) 07:56, 06 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kosovo, recognized as an independent state by the majority of UN states, is displayed as part of Serbia.

Extra color for countries with Accession protocol?

[edit]

With Macedonia now having an Accession Protocol, I thought it would maybe be good to add a new color to the map to showcase this.--Poklane (talk) 23:21, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sweden and Finland

[edit]

Sweden and Finland became in June 2022 candidates for NATO . Both countries should be now coloured in lightblue. --88.70.215.224 11:55, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to color scheme

[edit]

Hello, I was thinking about the current color scheme. If I understood the color blindness spectrum correctly, I think Blue / Green together may be an issue. The green color we have chosen for accession (formerly intensified dialogue) may not be the best choice. Additionally, Ukraine and Georgia are "enhanced opportunity partners" which appears to be more than just PfP but less than a membership action plan. I created this version of the map that structures everything in shades of blue. Let me know your thoughts. I'm also open to suggestions if these blues don't seem right.

Original uploader here, I like those colors. Maybe the saturation of the "Accession Protocol Triggered" blue is a bit strong compared to the other more muted shades, but there's probably a limited number of months that'll be relevant anyways.-- Patrick, oѺ 15:39, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for chiming in here and apologies for not putting in a mention. The saturation was also my concern. That said, when I was researching color blindness there were essentially three different types. A recommendation I saw was to keep the same hue but adjust the contrast/saturation to really make them stand out to those who have a form of that condition.
