SVG tagging by user Gszegosz[edit]

OK, as this now became a problem, I will elaborate my position here:

1. SVG format is totally inferior to PNG. I know that some people would not agree, but it is what it is, choice of format is rather a personal preference and we can have very long discussion of why SVG format is bad compared to PNG.

2. There is no Wikimedia/Wikipedia rule which says that SVG format should be the only image format used for maps, and thus there is no obligation for usage of this format.

3. If you want to make SVG version of this map, you are free to do that, but your SVG version then would be a separate piece of work, which have nothing to do with this PNG image. You can link your SVG version from this page within "Other versions" title, but that is all.

4. SVG tag which you posted on this page highly disrupts this image. It is placed before any info about this image and first thing which people who seeing this image will see is your tag (instead, they should see info about the map).

Due to that, I am removing the tag and if you have problem with that please explain your position on this talk page before conducting further controversial actions. Thank you. PANONIAN (talk) 08:56, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Border should be removed[edit]

This image should not have a white border around it since most infoboxes, templates and file holders this image is used on already has a grey or white border for it by default. Keeping a white border only thickens it, thus it is not necessary. CentreLeftRight 23:31, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I disgree. I made maps for Wikimedia in a way that they can be also used as independent media outside of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. Therefore, my primary aim was not to "fit a map into some infobox, template or file holder". However, if you want to make another version of this map which will be more suitable for some infobox, you are free to make such map and to upload it under different filename.
