Why would this not be public domain in the US if it's dated 1905, which is clearly before 1923? 91.154.122.198 17:51, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- PD-US is for material first created and published in the USA before 1923. Different countries have different copyright laws; in many including EU the main factor is date of death of the author rather than date of first publication. The copyright status in the country of origin is important. It is public domain in the USA as well, but that's not the work's country of origin. -- Infrogmation (トーク) 18:52, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
