The illustration doesn't show Plantago afra (an annual), but Plantago sempervirens, which has long been named Plantago cynops sensu L. (1762) et auct., non Plantago cynops L. (1753), nom. utique rej. Michel Chauvet (talk) 16:36, 11 April 2019 (UTC).[reply]

Ypey's text (here at Caliban) reads : 41. Plantago caule ramoso subfruticoso. Gebruik. Deeze Plant bezit geene bijzondere bekende kragten. ("Subfruticose plantain with ramified stem. This plant has no particular known property".) Ypey wouldn't had said that of Plantago afra which is a well-known medicinal. Michel Chauvet (talk) 16:36, 11 April 2019 (UTC).[reply]
