@ŠJů: All sources I have seen describe Josefov as part of the Old Town: my travel guide as well as English and German Wikipedia. I understand that this might be today's view, as it is one of the oldest parts of today's Prague, while from a historic perspective this is incorrect. Unfortunately, changes on the image page will not be possible today, as this is today's PODT. I will correct it later on. Maybe you could check/correct Wikipedia accordingly. @Uoaei1: Maybe, pulp travel guides present many bullshits and inaccuracies. You must use serious and reliable sources. Prague Jewish Town (since 1850 called Josefov according to Joseph II) was never part of the Prague Old Town, even though it is an enclave, completely surrounded by the Old Town area. Even when 4 separate Prague towns (Old Town, New Town, Lesser Town and the Castle District) joined to one regal capital city of Prague in 1784, Jewish Quarter (Jewish Town) was not part of Prague. It was renamed and joined to Prague just in 1850, but not to the Old Town, but as a separate district (Old Town was numbered as district I, while Josefov as district V). You may see this map for trustworthy information. This division is authentically historical, used continually in cadastral division and for house numbering. For administrative purposes, Prague I – Prague VII were factually joined to one electoral and administrative unit since 1923, even though the original numbering of districts was used until 1949 (and is surviving on many house number plates). Thus, Josefov is surrely a core part of the old, historic centre of Prague, but never was part of the district called Old Town. Regrettably, unknowing tourists or guide writers are able to consider even New Town, Malá Strana or Vinohrady as parts of Old Town, not understanding that Old Town is a proper name of a specific district and historical town, not a descriptive common noun of the whole historical centre of Prague. --ŠJů (talk) 10:23, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

As regards the English Wikipedia, the article en:Josefov says: "Josefov (also Jewish quarter; German: Josefstadt) is a town quarter and the smallest cadastral area of Prague, Czech Republic, formerly the Jewish ghetto of the town. It is completely surrounded by Old Town." That implies unambiguously that Josefov is not part of the Old Town.

@ŠJů: Thanks for the information. English Wikipedia is more correct, but there are also mistakes. For example Old Town (Prague) mentions Staronová synagoga to be located in Old Town. --Uoaei1 (talk) 11:27, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
