Note: I decide to flickrpass this image because on the given flickrlink, the Canadian Film Centre (CFC) staff were asked on March 7, 2013 this question: "Dear respected CFC staff,
I was wondering if you can answer a question that I have? I notice that this image is licensed freely on your flickr account and was taken at the 2013 CFC Annual Gala & Auction by the "George Pimentel Photography". The CFC has many photos from this gala attributed to this photography firm.
My question is just whether the CFC hired the 'George Pimentel Photography' firm to take pictures at this gala on its behalf so that the CFC could later post photos of the Gala on its flickr account here? (in other words. the CFC owns the copyrights over these 2013 Gala images--and gives attribution to George Pimentel Photography') Or did the 'George Pimentel Photography' firm donate some of these images to the CFC? Which would mean that the photo company owns the copyright over these images. Can you post a reply on this flickrlink? Thank You from BC, Canada."
The CFC staff replied back on the same day: "Hi there, We hire George Pimentel Photography for the event(s) and pay the photographer(s). Although we own the rights, photographers are always credited as a courtesy. Thanks"
This means that the Canadian Film Centre owns the rights to this image (not the George Pimentel Photography) and can license it as it wishes. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 02:12, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
