This picture shows the Rhine at Düsseldorf in the second half of the 19th century. The church tower in the veduta shows the silhouette of Saint Lambertus. Perséus may have painted the picture during his study stay in Düsseldorf (between 1867 and 1869) or during his second visit in 1874. Typical for the scenery at the unpaved banks of the Rhine in this time had been the raftsmen. For comparison look here (Poppel, 1852). --Tfjt (talk) 17:04, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
