Gävle är en tätort (stad) i Gästrikland och centralort i Gävle kommun. Orten är residensstad för Gävleborgs län. Gävle är Sveriges 13:e största tätort med 68 700 invånare (2005).[2] Orten är belägen vid Gävlebukten och har på senare år fått mycket stor uppmärksamhet för sin julbock som nästan varje år eldhärjas.
Gävle is a city in Sweden, Gästrikland. The name comes from gavel (means the short side of a house). Gävle used to be a town full of fishermen, rich fishermen. Wich the merchants didn't like of course. The fishermen used to live with their familys close to Gavleån, where they had their fishing ships. It was the men that went on the fishing trips but when they returned everybody helped to take care of the catch.
Gävle est une ville du centre de la Suède, située à l'embouchure de la rivière Dalälven, qui se jette dans la mer Baltique. Elle est la capitale du comté de Gävleborg et la ville principale de la commune de Gävle. Elle compte environ 68 000 habitants.
