Description
Deutsch: „Generalfeldmarschall v. Hindenburg bei seinem Besuche in Lemberg am 3. August. Ludendorff schreibt darüber: Ich war überrascht von der Schönheit Lembergs und ihrem deutschen Aussehen. Kriegserinnerungen 1919 S. 181 Max Hoffmann im Tagebuch 4.8.1916: Heute früh um 3 Uhr kamen wir von der Fahrt nach Kowel und Lemberg zurück. Schön sieht es bei den Herrn Bundesgenossen nicht aus. Wir werden feste in die Finger spucken müssen, ich zweifel aber nicht, dass es gehen wird. Empfänge waren im übrigen fürstlich mit Ehrenkompagnien und allem möglichen Trata, Festessen usw.
English: "Field Marshal v. Hindenburg on his visit to Lviv on 3 August 19. Ludendorff wrote: "I was surprised by the beauty of Lviv and its German appearance." Kriegserinnerungen 1919 p. 181. Max Hoffmann wrote in his diary 04/08/1916: "This morning at 3 o'clock we came home from the trip back to Kovel and Lemberg. It does not look so nice to our honourable allies. We will have solid spit in the finger, but I do not doubt that it will go. Otherwise our receptions went royally with a guard of honour and all sorts prades, banquets, etc.
