Hi I just happened to look at the file File:Seeschlacht Vergleich.jpg which you posted. The 'author' of a work is the person who first made it, not the person who copied it to wikipedia. In this case perhaps it should say 'unknown' if you do not know the author. The 'source' is where the image came from, here perhaps 'postcard'. For example, the image File:Schiffsgeschütz russisch.jpg says on the picture source ' leipziger illustrierte zeitung' ? (sorry, I do not understand German.) Does it also mean the photographer ('author') was someone called Engels?
I saw you had uploaded another picture, File:Kaiser Wilhelm und Hindenburg in Posen.jpg. The image is scanned at only 394 × 588 pixels: I was wondering if you could upload higher resolution images which are more useful? Commons prefers to get the highest quality images possible.
I hope this doesn't sound too critical. I have found it quite difficult to understand what to put in all the boxes. Sandpiper (talk) 08:18, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

File:Kaisermanöver.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Bauernfreund. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Bauernfreund~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
