English: Geoffrey Chaucer; "The Harvard Portrait". The original painting in oils on wood was held for at least three centuries at Stanshawe's Court near Bristol. It was presented to Harvard University by Charles Eliot Norton, and placed in the Fogg Museum of Harvard Library. Ref: A Mirror of Chaucer's World, by Roger Sherman Loomis [1].
