| Description |
A U.S. Air Force Military Air Transport Service Convair C-131D-CO Samaritan (s/n 55-0293) in flight. The serial 55-0293 was actually carried by two different aircraft. The serial number 55-0293 was transferred to a Convair 440-79 (c/n 316) that was operated by General Dynamics (civil registration N8436H). This plane was later operated by the USAF and is today on display at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan (USA). The original 55-0293 was a Convair 340-79 (c/n 219). This aircraft was sold to Saudi Arabian Airlines (civil registration HZ-AAZ) and was written off at Dhahran on 8 July 1968. |
