Object history | Die Quadrierung des Schildes soll auf die Jahrhunderte dauernde Anbindung an das Kondominium Pronsfeld mit vier Herren hinweisen. Die heutige Zusammengehörigkeit von insgesamt vier Teilen zu einer Ortsgemeinde (Hauptort, Gesotz, Sonnenhof und Geweberwald) begründen auch in unserer Zeit die Vierfelderung des Schildes. Die Farben Rot und Silber stehen für die ursprüngliche Zugehörigkeit zu Trier und die Beziehung zur Abtei Prüm. Silber und Blau weisen auf die zumindest zeitweilige Abhängigkeit von Luxemburg hin. Die Figuren (silberne Haspel und blaue Flachsblüte) beziehen sich auf den Ortsnamen, der nahe legt, dass hier intensiv Flachs zur Faser- und Samengewinnung angebaut und verarbeitet wurde, sowie auf die früher noch heute bestehende Landwirtschaft (goldene Ähre) und die Waldwirtschaft (grüne Eichel). | ||||
