Object history
Deutsch: Seit in der Zeit um 1600 die ersten bekannten Stadtsiegel auftraten, weisen sie das Wappen der Herren von Langenburg oder wenigstens dessen obere Hälfte in allerlei Abwandlungen auf. Der Löwe erschien teils mit, teils ohne Krone. Die Schachung der unteren Schildhälfte wich einer Doppelreihe von Rauten und – vom späten 17. Jahrhundert an -zeitweilig auch dem Großbuchstaben L. Mit Beratung durch das Hauptstaatsarchiv wurde schließlich die ursprüngliche Schachung wieder eingeführt. Am 17. Januar 1979 hat das Landratsamt Schwäbisch Hall das entsprechend verbesserte Wappen samt der Flagge verliehen.
