Deutsch: Aus der Vergangenheit des Dorfes Maßweiler wurden die alte, vor der Reformation dem heiligen Antonius geweihte Dorfkirche und die in der Gemarkung gelegene Wüstung Mühlhausen für das Wappen ausgewählt, letztere durch ein Mühlrad dargestellt, wohingegen die Lilie, eines der Attribute des heiligen Antonius, auf die Dorfkirche verweist. Die Ortsherrschaft in Maßweiler übten zunächst die Grafen von Zweibrücken und nach deren Aussterben die Kurpfalz bzw. das Herzogtum Pfalz-Zweibrücken aus; hierfür stehen die Wappenfarben Schwarz und Gold bzw. Gold und Rot
