HOUSTON, Texas (Oct. 22, 2012) Sailors assigned to the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) meet their ship’s namesake during an office visit with former President George H.W. Bush during Houston Navy Week 2012. Houston Navy Week is one of 15 Navy Weeks planned across America this year. Navy Weeks are intended to show Americans the investment they have made in their Navy and increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence. The U.S. Navy has a 237-year heritage of defending freedom and projecting and protecting U.S. interests around the globe. Join the conversation on social media using #warfighting.
