Description

"Богоматерь оплечная". Иоанн Апакасс (?). Первая половина XVII века, Крит. дерево, темпера, позолота. 46х36,5 см. ГМИИ. Ж-2854

Реставрация: Доска цельная, шпонки. Утраты дерева (по углам), левкаса и красочного слоя, особенно на одеждах. Нимб цирован.

Погрудная композиция характерна для иконописи Крита. Стиль сильно итальянизирован. Лик построен пластично. Западные влияния очевидны и в деталях: трактовке глаз, губ и проч. Разработанная цветная светотень сочетается с тонкими иконописными светами и плавным многослойным личным письмом. Мафорий с жесткими складками и ассистом написан в иной манере - гораздо более суммарно и жидко. Такое сочетание трактовки лика и драпировок, а также сияющий розово-малиновый колорит близки манере художника Константина Палеокапаса. ( См. его икону "Положение во гроб" 1620 -1645 гг. из монастыря св.Иоанна Богослова на Патмосе.)
