Summary[edit]
DescriptionISS030-E-183973.jpg | The largest city is Green Bay, in the upper right, with the bright lights of the city distinct from the dark of Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. Marinette is the largest of the cities in the lower center, with Sturgeon Bay slightly left of center above it on the other side of the bay. All three bridges are noticeable. The smaller communities and farms of Door County stand out against the black background of the lake and bay. To the left and below of Sturgeon Bay, the bright lights of Fish Creek contrast with the dimness of Peninsula State Park. Some of the shoreline in the northern part of the peninsula (even lower and further left) is brightly lit due to shoreline developments, especially in Ephraim, Sister Bay, and much of the area in between. On the Lake Michigan shoreline, Baileys Harbor and Jacksonport appear as bright lines. The brightest cities along the Lake Michigan shore are Kewaunee (top center right) and Algoma (to the left and below Kewaunee). Between Algoma and Sturgeon Bay lies Forestville, which appears more blotchy, and Maplewood, which appears as an X. Linking Sturgeon Bay and Green Bay are communities and developments along Highway 57. To the left is Brussels, which appears more blotchy, and to the right is Dyckesville, which appears as a curved line along the shore. Photo taken at 1:10 AM Central Daylight Savings Time. | |||
