Description
English: Kirman vase carpet from South east Persia, mid 17thc entury, corroded black, minute repairs in centre, otherwise outstanding condition 11ft.1in. x 5ft. (339cm. x 153cm),sold as Lot 100 of sale 7845 by Christie's in London on April 15th 2010 for record price of £6,201,250/$9.599 Million (including buyer's premium). It was a record for both carpets and islamic art in general.
