Summary[edit]
DescriptionRaccoon-range.png |
English: This map shows the worldwide range of the raccoon, the native range is red, the introduced range is blue. The distribution in North America is based on the map on page 80 in the book “Raccoons: A Natural History” by Samuel I. Zeveloff. The distribution in Europe is based on the map in the article “Procyon lotor” by Marten Winter (DAISIE). The distribution in Japan is based on the map in the article “Present Status of Invasive Alien Raccoon and its Impact in Japan” by Tohru Ikeda et al. The distribution in the Caucasus region is based on the map on page 12 in the book “Der Waschbär” (“The Raccoon”) by Ulf Hohmann. Edit on 6 December 2008: Nova Scotia is once again red according to [1]. A population of raccoons has been found in Italy near Bergamo according to [2]. Also includes national borders. |
