English: ROBINSON'S ARCH, JERUSALEM. Stratum; The roof being part of a bridge which crossed the Tyropceon Valley. Was named after its discoverer, Dr. Robinson.
Supported in some places by pillars of rock left for the purpose. The drawing shows shepperds gathering olives from a small tree that was near to the arch. In background another arch and over it a bridge and the trees from the Temple Court Plato in right. |
