Description

Native, yearlong-green, perennial, sparsely mat-forming grass to 30 cm tall, with erect tufts arising from the nodes of long, stout rhizomes and stolons. There are male and female plants.

Leaves are densely silky and greyish-green. Found on coastal fore dunes. The most important pioneer sand-stabilising plant of coastal sand dunes. A valuable feed source for galahs and other large seed eating birds, as well as kangaroos.
