Steam tram "Caroline" in Brno, Czech Republic

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The most interesting tram (sorry, šalina) in the Czech Republic - steam tram #Caroline from 1889.

A few interesting facts: - it is necessary to heat slowly 4 hours before the first steam can be used. During that time, the furnace consumes an estimated cubic meter of wood - consumes ten cubic meters of water, half a ton of coal and some wood over the weekend - to drive it is necessary to have a license to drive steam locomotives and trams at the same time - lot of parts are original

Brief history:

At first, Karolínka traveled with passengers, but later it drove more cargo, either in sidings or in the Zbrojovka area. During World War II, it helped tow wrecked cars and haul debris. In 1952 it was transferred to the museum and in 1969 it went out after repair for the first time as a museum exhibit.
