Object history
Deutsch: Die weiß-blauen Rauten in der oberen Schildhälfte verweisen auf die Orts- und Landesherrschaft der Wittelsbacher seit Anfang des 13. Jahrhunderts. Abbach, von alters her wegen seiner Heilquellen bekannt, ist für 1224 erstmals als forum (Markt) belegt. Herzog Albrecht IV. von Bayern verlieh dem Markt das Wappen, das bis heute weitgehend unverändert blieb. Die drei Rosen wurden im 15. Jahrhundert als Wappen der legendären, historisch nicht fassbaren Grafen von Abach gedeutet. Nach der Vorgabe im Wappenbrief von 1486 wurde auch ein Siegelstempel angefertigt, der in Abdrucken seit 1514 bekannt ist.
