Object history
Deutsch: Aus den Jahren 1696 und 1791 sind Abdrücke eines Ortssiegels überliefert mit dem Horn eines Widders. Es ist wohl das geminderte Wappen der Voit von Rieneck, die Vögte der Grafen von Rieneck waren und 1823 ausgestorben sind. Sie führten in Rot ein silbernes Widderhorn in ihrem Wappen. Bis zum 15. Jahrhundert hatten sie einen Teil des Zehnts und das Gericht in Mittelsinn inne. Die Farben Gold und Rot im Gemeindewappen weisen auf die Grafen von Rieneck und die Freiherren von Thüngen. Die Grafen von Rieneck errichteten im 12. Jahrhundert zur Sicherung ihrer Besitzungen im Spessart in Burgsinn eine Wasserburg, die 1405 zusammen mit dem Ort an die Herren von Thüngen kam und noch heute im Besitz der Familie ist.
