In regards to images illustrating sexual content, User:Raeky posed a good question in a vandalism discussion. This is a valid concern, this image depicts sex between three people. It relates to taboos many in society consider immoral such as homosexuality, sodomy, marriage out of wedlock, polyamory, bisexuality, sex in a public place, sex in a well lit area, consensual heterosexual intercourse in the missionary position for purposes of procreation, and based on the disarray in the back ground (the knocked over vase) it may even betray rape. This could be a very disturbing image for people to look at. We have to consider the sensibilities and how people in the world may be offended by this image. Just think, how many clicks away from an innocent article on say... a pocket monster, would a vulgar pornographic depiction such as this be? Ty (talk) 03:00, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense. Wikipedia, which allegedly doesn't censor as you would have it do, is replete with images of "sex between three people," "taboos," "homosexuality," "marriage out of wedlock, polyamory, bisexuality, sex in a public place, sex in a well lit area," and "consensual heterosexual intercourse in the missionary position for purposes of procreation"—and much of that is absurd and/or fails to make your case. These aren't the 1950s, thank goodness. As for "rape," you're grossly misconstruing the image. The disarray in the scene is meant to convey the frequently rapturous qualities of good sex, the woman's facial expression is very far removed from any distress or anxiety, and it would be extraordinarily singular for a "rapist" to be engaged in receptive anal sex in the very act of allegedly "raping." Let's be perfectly clear: you want Wikipedia to censor the image because its content is not to your personal tastes and sensibilities. But neither antiquated philistinism nor obtuseness is an excuse for censorship, which Wikipedia supposedly doesn't do. Antinoos69 (talk) 11:54, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This user appears to have been indefinitely blocked for years, precisely for fiddling with images of erotic art, like this one, which has apparently slipped through the cracks. It's time to undo the damage and remove the restrictions on this image. Antinoos69 (talk) 17:57, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There is no restrictions on this image. The picture is used a lot of times on Wikipedia, see File:Édouard-Henri_Avril_(29).jpg#globalusage. Pyb (talk) 11:28, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Pyb (talk · contribs), I can personally assure you the file is restricted on Wikipedia. I've been trying to get the file on my user page, without success. Very-hard-to-get administrative permission is required to use the file on the U.S. site. Requests are largely ignored. See the file's webpage on Wikipedia (U.S.) and the bad image list. Antinoos69 (talk) 16:45, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I was not aware of this functionnality. Pyb (talk) 16:53, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Antinoos69: There is no such thing as the U.S. Wikipedia. It is the English Wikipedia, as indicated by the letters preceding the first dot of the URL - en.wikipedia.org - which is a language code. It is shared by Australia, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as well as all other English-speaking countries - one of which is the U.S.A. --Redrose64 (talk; at English Wikipedia) 21:04, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So, Redrose64 (talk · contribs), can you help with the problem actually at hand? I would recommend removing the file from the bad image list, but would appreciate an exemption so I could use the image on my Wikipedia user page if the former option is beyond the censors' fragile sensibilities. Antinoos69 (talk) 22:53, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Each Wikimedia project maintains its own bad image list, and these are outside the scope of Commons. That for the English Wikipedia is at w:en:MediaWiki:Bad image list and it is not discussed on Commons, but on its own talk page - w:en:MediaWiki talk:Bad image list, where I see you have already posted. --Redrose64 (talk; at English Wikipedia) 21:23, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note: Tyciol was blocked/banned by ArbCom for reasons unrelated to images. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 06:43, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
