Territories consistency[edit]

Is there a way we can make sure the way we colour territories without NOCs is consistent? It's currently not following any particular rule, see:

  • Greenland - Gold (same as Denmark)
  • Western Sahara - Red (no participation)
  • Falkland Islands, New Caledonia etc. - Blue (no medal)

I'd suggest that we have two options:

  1. Colour territories visible on the map not participating as red (as they have no NOC).
  2. Colour the same as the parent nation. For example, in the absence of their own NOC, a New Caledonian represents France, a Greenlandic represents Denmark, a Anguillan represents Great Britain etc.

If we're to be consistent with File:Summer Olympic Games Medal Nations1.png for the all-time medal table we should go with the former. Thoughts? DelUsion23 (talk) 11:36, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say we pick the 2nd one. SpinnerLaserzthe2nd (talk) 00:47, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
French Guyana was already coloured yellow with the rest of France. I'd say to just do the second option, and leave red for places not participating or places that actually have no possible NOC which could represent them. -Boldblazer (talk) 09:30, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think Greenland, French Guiana and also Macau have similar status and should be treated the same way. either all marked red, or marked with their parent nation. And I would like to point out for territories without an NOC, their citizens are theoretically eligible to compete for their parent nation's NOC. --Tingo (talk) 12:30, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
