The inscription visible in the lower part identifying the portrait with Maria Theresa of Austria (1767-1827) seems to be correct because the woman represented in the fashion of the 1780s is very young (at that time Maria Amalia of Saxony would be around 30 years old), besides It bears a lot of resemblance to other portraits of the Archduchess and none to those of María Amalia.
