Speedy deletion request

This logo is inaccurate. It also violates WP:LOGOS: "Logos uploaded to Wikipedia must be low-resolution and no larger than necessary," as SVG files are resolution-independent.

I have declined your speedy deletion request. English Wikipedia policy does not apply on Commons; in any case, the quote you provided is only relevant for non-free logos. As shown on the file information page here, this logo is in the public domain. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 22:15, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

I will leave whether it is in the public domain to the attorneys. That said, it is a registered trademark. The only use of this logo is in a Wikipedia article, and Wikipedia states use of logos is supposed to be accurate and low-resolution. This image is neither therefore it is not appropriate for Wikipedia to incorporate it. If it is not incorporated in a Wikipedia article, then there is no reason for it to exist on Wikimedia Commons. At least as I read https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Contributing_your_own_work "https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Contributing_your_own_work" Certainly an inaccurate image is not useful even if it were public domain. The logo in the source document you cite is not the current logo. There are slight differences along the top and bottom edges, for instance. CharlesBelovSFMTA (talk) 00:27, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
