Ending 20 years ago. Update available? --Itu (talk) 20:45, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Someone claiming to be Mark Adler, NASA JPL System Engineer and Project Manager posted this image on Quora. If it's really en:Mark Adler — possibly en:user:Dradler — anyone want to ask him for a source? cmglee (talk) 21:37, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. But it think its necessary to distinguish between the paths of the sun(-center) and on the other hand the path of the barycenter. Though both are of interest. --Itu (talk) 22:40, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I don't understand what you mean — that diagram was plotted from the point of view of the sun, so its center is always in the middle of the yellow disk. The dots then correspond to the position of the barycenter at different times. cmglee (talk) 22:35, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The image posted to Quora traces back on Google Image Search to this 2012 article in what appears to be a collection of self-published papers on astrophysics. Unfortunately alongside that unreferenced image the article includes an early draft of the image represented on this talk page. So it's not much of a source (although this image itself is equally unsourced). Bigbluefish (talk) 18:39, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
